POSITION SUMMARY

 The Information Technology Senior Engineer is responsible for the maintenance of E4E Relief’s technology environments, comprised of mostly cloud and some on-premise network infrastructure, including servers, workstations, telephony and conference room audio/visual solutions.  The role requires responsive communications and coordination with external managed service providers and technology vendors.  The IT Sr. Engineer works closely with the Vice President, Security and Infrastructure, to ensure the successful implementation of new technology projects, system upgrades and enterprise IT support. The IT Sr. Engineer coordinates day-to-day infrastructure operations for the organization, working with IT and business teams as needed to maintain availability of all tech systems. 


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning

· Assist IT Management in aligning technology strategy with overall business vision, strategy and objectives.

· Track and report technology key performance indicators to senior IT management for measuring success.

· Support IT governance, risk and compliance requests by providing system logs, configurations, and other evidence artifacts.


Operations

· Keep all information systems operating properly, whether hosted in public, private or hybrid clouds or on premise. 

· Provide hands-on system administration for Windows Active Directory, Office 365, MS Azure, wired and wireless networks, perimeter firewalls, virtual and physical servers, endpoints, storage, security appliances and services, VoIP telephony and software applications for IT and the Business (Legal, Finance, Customer Experience, Sales, Operations, Marketing, etc.).

· Provide support for all core operating system and database maintenance; Coordinate all IT infrastructure system upgrades / migrations with internal and external managed service provider (MSP) teams.

· Work often with internal system admin / help desk, InfoSec, application development and external contractor resources.

· Demonstrate technical skills and competencies necessary for Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Azure environments.

· Assist IT product and services research and selection of IT applications, equipment and supplies.

· Proactively monitor performance and health of networks and systems. Timely correct known security vulnerability and configuration issues.

· Display good morale, teamwork and productivity; Be accountable for required duties.

· Confirm disaster recovery technology assessment checklists are implemented and kept up-to-date. 

· Perform annual tests of the DR Plan to ensure infrastructure preparedness for cyber incidents and unplanned system outages.

· Serve as resource for physical security and coordinate / cross-train with building maintenance.

· Assist staff with resolving technology issues and technical training for technology services and solutions.


Vendor Management

· Assist senior IT management with service agreements, including SLA targets, master service agreements and related statements of work.

· Review and assess vendor performance against service level agreements and contracted statements of work, including milestone tracking and resolving obstacles to timely completion of technology projects.

· Maintain cooperative working relationships between vendors/partners.

· Identify specialized vendor support needs for infrastructure, security, A/V equipment, telecom and network engineering.


Project Oversight

· Act as project technical lead when needed.

· Coordinate change management, approval and end user testing processes for all production technology changes.

· Responsible for ongoing maintenance and annual reviews of IT processes and process documentation to ensure accuracy and identification of process improvement opportunities.

Requirements

· The ideal candidate for this position will have 2-5 years of hands-on sys admin experience in enterprise information technology environments, including multi-platform server and network infrastructure technologies, private and public clouds, and good communication skills.

· Job-relevant degrees or equivalent work experience is a plus, e.g., Associate or Bachelor degrees in Computer Science, MIS/CIS, Cloud, Networks, Data, etc.

· IT hardware and software vendor certification(s) relevant to this position, e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, etc., are a plus.

· General ability to perform the essential functions and overall physical and mental requirements of this position, including stamina to perform tasks over extended periods and ability to occasionally move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite and/or workstation to another.
