We are a locally owned practice with 3 physical therapy clinics in southern NM.  Our billing team is a close-knit group of 5 individuals that cooperate and work together to achieve the collection goals for the companies. Beautiful upstairs office with views of the mountains will inspire you throughout your day.


Job Summary

  • Works directly with patients/clients and staff to facilitate the smooth and proper completion of data entry, obtaining insurance authorizations, sending claims and following up on collections.
  • Performs varied medical billing and insurance tasks for the Physical Therapy Clinics which requires knowledge of department policies and procedures.
Requirements

General Accountabilities

  • Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information.
  • Schedules appointments, answers questions and obtains authorizations. 
  • Ensures all intake information is complete and accurately performs data entry in a timely manner.
  • Ensures confidentiality and controls access to sensitive information.
  • Establishes and maintains files and records. 
  • Stocks supplies; Participates in the periodic inventory of supplies. 
  • Performs a variety of clerical duties. 
  • Complies with Clinic policies and procedures and other regulatory standards; Executes practices as appropriate.
  • Complies with professional, ethical, and legal standards.
  • Ensures patient/client service and quality standards are met including patient/client interaction and cleanliness of facilities.
  • Ensures professionalism standards of the facilities and staff are met and maintains professional image of the facilities. 
  • Participates in plans for continuous quality improvement regarding patient care, staff development and facility advancement. 
  • Complies with Clinic programs for functional outcomes and patient satisfaction. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. 
  • Will follow written protocol/procedures for tasks. Will maintain up to date protocol/procedure for tasks.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred Education: Specialized medical office training.  
  • Minimum Experience: At least one year working in an office setting.
  • Preferred Experience: At least two years working in a medical office setting.
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Knowledge of word processing and database software.
  • Preferred Field of Expertise: Prefer medical office experience in a comparable environment to provide knowledge of operations, policies and procedures. Bilingual in Spanish.
Salary Description
$16-$18/hour
