The Director of Major and Planned Giving (DMPG) is responsible for the overall management of a newly crafted major and planned giving program at Thomas College. This individual will manage a personal portfolio of 125 prospects, researching, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors and prospects of $15,000 and above. They will mentor and support a fundraising team, and work closely with the VP of Advancement and the President of the College to promote the acquisition of major and planned gifts.
Additionally, the DMPG will be responsible for reviving the planned giving society and designing a program to support an ambitious campaign endowment goal; integrating fundraising best-practices into all aspects of the major and planned giving programs; creating strategies; managing data; developing metrics; and focusing efforts on advancing the College’s major and planned giving programs. S/he will be instrumental in assisting the Vice President for Advancement and the President regarding strategies for the next phase of the campaign.
Must be sincerely passionate about the mission and vision of Thomas College and willing to be an active and positive member of our special community.
The applicant must have a proven track record of building trusting relationships with prospects and closing major, leadership and planned gifts. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work with individuals at all College levels. Must have the ability to think strategically and design an effective campaign model utilizing a metrics driven approach. Must be a self-starter, deadline and data driven, and able to adapt and manage multiple and changing priorities.
A four-year college degree is required. Must have a minimum of 10 years of increasingly responsible institutional advancement experience. Must have experience working with donors and professional advisors on complex gifts that achieve complimentary goals for the donor and institution.
