Description

 

Growing medical collection agency is looking for an Insurance Discovery Specialist as part of our Insurance Team.  This position is responsible for evaluating accounts for potential insurance coverage for all insurance plan types, facilitating claims processing, follow-up, and appeals.  This position will contribute to revenue and provide value to our clients. 

Ability to work from home part or full time upon training completion and sign-off.  Compensation 19.00 per hour to start.


 

Duties:

  • Review details of an account to determine if insurance was previously filed and determine if claims filing is necessary.
  • Clear documentation of account findings and ensure the account is pushed through the designed workflow. 
  • Communication with clients regarding claims updates on payments, adjustments, or denials. 
  • Ability to work in client systems to confirm accounts are being handled accordingly by our providers. 
  • Eligibility review through online portals.  
  • Audit non-insurance desks for accounts that should have been reviewed by the insurance team. 
  • Knowledge of carrier-specific timely filing for the claims process and eligibility requirements. 
  • Ability to communicate with insurance carriers and identify claim issues.
  • Ability to communicate with patients on their involvement to ensure claims can be paid.

Requirements

 

  • 3 or more years’ experience handling medical claims follow-up and eligibility
  • Microsoft Excel and general computer\office skills
  • Motivated, efficient, and logical
  • Excellent time management 
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to type 60 WPM or more
Salary Description
19.00 per hour
