The First Year Experience Coordinator leads comprehensive first year experience programming to support entering students, including orientation events and the first-year seminar, and coordinates peer leadership efforts that augment these programs. The Coordinator also delivers academic coaching to designated students. The Coordinator functions as a member of the Student Success team, including serving as the professional staff member on call for Residence Life during designated rotations. The Coordinator represents Student Success in the larger campus community and collaborates closely with other campus units to meet division goals and respond to institutional priorities. Additional responsibilities related to these duties may be assigned by the Sr. Vice President of Student Success.
The successful candidate will have experience with orientation or academic support programming, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as demonstrated abilities to coordinate with others in a positive manner and to respond effectively to dynamic situations involving students. The position also requires working knowledge of FERPA, ADA, and other relevant regulations or the ability to learn.
A bachelor’s degree is required. Some evening and weekends required.
