Itential is looking for a Senior or Intermediate Product Manager to join our product team focused on turning customer and market needs into product capabilities and features delivered to cloud and on-premises customers.

About You

As the ideal Product Management candidate, you have a positive and energetic personality, you are a strong communicator both written and verbal, and you have a confident and professional demeanor. You are growth-minded, you have a deep understanding of what it takes to enter a new organization and leverage a strong team around you. Your goals are to earn the team’s trust through self-motivation, learning at a high-pace, and engaging with customers, prospects, sales, marketing, support and R&D on many levels.

You want to be challenged while exceeding expectations, always seeking to develop and grow new relationships within and without Itential to improve customer experience and growing revenue.

You have prior product management and product development experience, you have a strong interest in network technologies and automation, and you are very excited to play a central role in the scale-up strategy of an enterprise software company.

About the Role

Today’s product manager does more than just produce requirements and plan release cycles. Today’s product managers are great communicators of corporate vision internally and externally. They act as the communications bus to promote conversation with an aim to having internal alignment on goals as well as drawing in the best ideas, no matter from where they originate.

The product management team at Itential draws on expertise across the company to understand what our customers want and need, as well as in which direction the market is evolving to help us provide the best possible solution, while also building innovation for a future our customers don’t even know exists, yet.

What You Get to Do in this Role

As a Product Manager, you’re responsible for shaping the future of automation and orchestration. You’re passionate about enabling businesses of all sizes to grow and evolve their capabilities to by simplifying and automating complex and repetitive tasks. We work on complex problems across a spectrum of network equipment, services, SD-WAN, SaaS, and other platforms. You will be expected to engage directly with internal stakeholder as well as customers in partnership with our account and support teams. Your tasks include:

  • Helping determine the product roadmap, including: vision, market and competitive intelligence, requirements, prioritization, adoption, communication, sales and presales support, training, and marketing support.
  • Researching market trends, present data to leadership, and successfully influence outcomes that contribute to the company’s mission and growth.
  • Collaborating closely with architecture, engineering, sales, support, and marketing
  • Acting as product owner by clearly articulating the “why” behind the product and the problems that it solves.
  • Defining what success looks like for the products they are working on, and how the teams contribute to these goals.
  • Simplifying complexity by analyzing and complicated issues and synthesizing an approach that works towards solutions with speed and urgency.
  • Prioritizing capabilities and enhancements to discern between urgent and important, and important vs. obvious.
  • Communicating with stakeholders at all levels and externally to customers.
  • Speaking with customers and to both assess their needs and promote the value of our solutions.
  • Participating in team building and company-growth activities, including strategy setting, marketing efforts, and customer success engagements.

To Be Successful in this Role you Have

  • 3+ years of Enterprise software product management experience.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using various tools including Atlassian JIRA and Confluence.
  • A strong understanding of network technologies and SaaS offerings.
  • Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction, collaborating with architecture, design, and engineering teams
  • The ability to translate high-level market and customer needs into vision and detailed requirements
  • The ability to tailor your vocabulary and approach to address your audience in a way they are most likely to understand you
  • The understanding and humility to know you’re not always the smartest person in the room, and
  • The confidence to know that sometimes you are
