The Office Manager will primarily provide administrative support to the Physical Plant Director and assist with the day-to-day operations of the Physical Plant’s functions and duties. Support will also be provided to the Head of Building Maintenance Trades, as well as any additional supervisors of the Physical Plant.
The Office Manager supports the Physical Plant Department in day-to-day functioning through general office support, financial management, program, and administrative support. The Office Manager maintains a positive working environment through organization and support of team members. The Office Manager should be a team player and seek ways to enhance the overall functioning of the Physical Plant Department. The Office Manager will promote the college’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) statement where applicable.
Intermediate computer skills are needed (Work, Excel and Outlook); administrative writing skills. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to multi-task effectively. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, job applicants, and vendors. Must have problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound judgments for the department. Must have the ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in stressful situations. Must have the ability to take initiative, work independently, problem solve, and make decisions. The Office Manager will manage the department effectively when the Physical Plant Director is absent.
Associates Degree, with three to five years office administration experience in the aforementioned responsibilities are highly desirable, as well as good to superior references in the field. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. An acceptable driving record is highly desirable.
