Description

Job Overview: The Audiologist is responsible for administering a variety of diagnostic audiological exams, counseling patients, families and physicians regarding test results, and reviewing options that best meet the patient’s hearing healthcare needs. Performs audiological services in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of hearing disorders for people of all ages. Evaluates, orders, dispenses, and repairs hearing aids. Participates in special events and programs throughout the community.


Responsibilities and Duties:

• Examine patients who have hearing, balance, or related ear problems

• Preform comprehensive hearing tests and Tympanometry, balance testing (including ABR, EcochG, VEMP, VNG), and Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs)

• Document and add charges into Greenway

• Counsel patients on hearing loss

• Hearing aid consultation, fittings, orientation, adjustments, repairs, and trouble shooting

• Clean test equipment and work areas

• Task (in Greenway) appropriate personnel for pre-certification of tests: (Epleys, vestibular testing)

• Perform Epley maneuvers as ordered by physicians

• Oversee OTO technicians on all testing

• Answer calls to Audiology and respond to any voicemails

• Schedule patient appointments

• Mail to patients (battery club, vestibular information, warranty cards, open house flyers, etc.)

• Prepare weekly and monthly reports

• Complete hearing aid repair forms

• Maintain current forms and inventory of new hearing aids/repairs

• Keep necessary supplies stocked in work areas

• Assist the practice with the growth of the Audiology Department by way of community outreach and marketing programs

• Setup and takedown of special functions

• Develop strong, ongoing relationships with outside facilities

• Visit partners and potential partners to evaluate needs, answer questions regarding credit terms, products prices, and availability, and promote products and services

• Maintain documentation of customer contact and account updates

These duties may change over time.



Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree, AuD, or Ph.D.

• Ability to obtain and retain SC and GA State Licenses

• Must be comfortable with hearing aid sales

• Must have the mobility to travel throughout the CSRA

• Ability to interact with patients, despite hearing or speech issues


Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position including but not limited to; Balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, stretching, lifting, grasping, standing, walking or sitting for extended periods of time

• Must have sufficient vision acuity and hearing with the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make discriminations in sound

• Must be able have good communication skills with proper speaking etiquette to patients
