Description

GENERAL PURPOSE FOR THE POSITION

Provides design of all structural components to meet current approved standards and design codes, along with satisfying the criteria set forth by the client. Evaluates, selects and adapts standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments. Works on a variety of projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uses approved design programs, EXCEL and hand calculations to design all members of a structure in accordance with current standards/specifications and client’s direction.
  • Reviews preliminary plans ensuring notes, dimensions, materials, and industry drafting standards are met.
  • Reviews final plans and deliverables that provide all details and qualified materials.
  • Analyzes capacity of existing building structures or utility structures for current and/or proposed conditions.
  • Analyzes structure for determination of capacity to support proposed conditions.
  • Prepares submissions for all stages of the design process.
  • Monitors project schedules and budgets. 
  • Develops broad knowledge and skills in specific practice area.
  • Evaluates, selects and applies standard technique procedures.
  • Uses collaborative judgment to determine adaptions in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments.
  • Works on a variety of projects ranging in size and complexity. 
  • Coordinates and assigns tasks to entry level engineers, CAD or administrative staff.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year college degree (BA., B.S., B.S.B.A., etc)
  • 0-4 months of experience (Must be an EIT)
  • 5-10 years of experience (Must be a P.E)
  • Professional Engineer License preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Revit, RISA 3D and Math CAD preferred.
