Responsible for performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting external audit and tax teams, and performing other accounting duties as assigned for RTI consolidated entities (domestic and international). 

This position will also be involved in the financial reporting process, including preparing monthly reporting packages, performing variance analyses, and further facilitating the company’s data-driven decision making by increasing the reach of its analytics (BI Platform) footprint. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger for each of RTI’s consolidated entities throughout each step of the accounting cycle.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of key balance sheet and intercompany accounts.
  • Serve as a team liaison between Accounting Team and audit team during annual audit process.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly tax returns.
  • Analyze results, identifying trends in key performance indicators for each of RTI’s reporting segments.
  • Provide variance analysis of actual results compared to historical results and current plan.
  • Create dynamic reports and dashboards/reports to support Accounting, Leadership and Operations teams.
  • Help establish and create value-added reporting for key stakeholders.
  • Further support the development and deployment of RTI’s analytics platform.
  • Assist in all budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses to meet management objectives.
  • Develop solutions to resolve accounting discrepancies and other financial problems/issues.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Accounting Team on general support and other projects as necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Access, and PowerPoint preferred.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel is required.
  • Competency in Looker (or other business intelligence/reporting tools) preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of SQL preferred, not required.
  • Passionate about serving internal and external customers.
  • Must be a data-driven individual who enjoys performing data analysis to communicate meaningful insights through impactful and compelling visualizations.

Minimum Required Experience and Training 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (or related field) is required. 
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience required.
  • Experience with accounting software preferred.

Certificates and/or Licenses

  • CPA Preferred (not required).

Working Conditions

  • Work will typically be performed in an office environment using routine office equipment.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 5-15 pounds as needed when moving business files and/or papers.

Required Travel

  • Limited travel may be required to support business needs including training and off-site meetings.
