Food and Beverage Manager in Training
Description

Would you like to experience the inner workings of a private club’s food and beverage service department? MPCC proudly institutes a robust Manager in Training program for college graduates looking for the training and guidance necessary to become a Food and Beverage Manager. While there is a heavy focus in food and beverage, our MITs rotate through various other departments to better prepare them for their career path. If you’d like to take a dive into the real-life utilization of things such as scheduling, payroll, inventory, interviewing and hiring, and purchasing, come check us out! Position is available beginning May 2025.


Job training includes:

  • Working alongside the food and beverage service team to serve members in a la carte, banquet, and pool service dining spaces
  • Collaborating with management team to oversee pool snack bar service in the summertime
  • Rotating through all departments of the club to gain a global understanding of the operation
  • Resolving member complaints and displaying effective service recovery tactics
  • Contributing to various managerial tasks, including inventory, scheduling, hiring, training, etc.
  • Participating in learning opportunities, as provided - including club tours, CMAA education, reading assignments, projects, and more
  • Completing year-end project as assigned by internship coordinator
Requirements
  • Enthusiastic, positive, friendly attitude
  • Hardworking, highly motivated
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Drive to learn, ability to problem solve
  • Prior hospitality or food & beverage experience preferred
  • Recent graduate, or graduating senior, from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in hospitality business management
  • Ability to work in a variety of work environments and roles - indoors, outdoors, seated, and standing/walking
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Final candidates will be subject to a background investigation

Upon successful completion of the program, a position in F&B Management may be offered upon availability. Should a position be unavailable at Myers Park Country Club, we are happy to provide a letter of reference for a satisfactory program completion.
