Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including interviewing and onboarding team members; administering pay, benefits, and leave; enforcing company policies and practices and employee relations. Please note this position supports 2nd shift and will generally work M-F, 11am-7pm CST.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the day-to-day HR functions which would include: employee relations, policy adherence, recognition and rewards, training and development.
- Works closely with our recruiting team to assist with interviews and onboarding of new team members
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
- Main contact for any HR related vendors (i.e. staffing agencies)
- Will be our OSHA contact for any updates and compliance purposes
- Responsible for Worker Comp administration (i.e. inputting claims, follow up and communication with employees)
- Provides management coaching to build leadership capabilities to address and resolve employee issues
- Reviews and tracks attendance points and issue disciplinary action as needed
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Will perform additional responsibilities when required
Requirements & Qualifications -
- BA/BS in Human Resources and/or equivalent years of experience
- 3+ years HR Generalist experience with proven knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the HRIS and talent management systems
- Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
- Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
- High degree of initiative, self-motivation and ability to motivate others
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues

- Bilingual in Spanish
