ABOUT THE ROLE
Communities In Schools is seeking a Senior Team Lead, Strategic Investments, who will be responsible for all operational aspects of a growing team that will support the implementation of scaling initiatives within the CIS affiliate network via direct dollar investments and re-granting/pass through funding.
This role will report to the Senior Director for Innovation and Strategic Initiatives. Primary responsibilities include managing growth/scaling investments, aligning these to national and funder priorities while ensuring network grantees are adhering to grant and research requirements. This position will support grantees in reaching goals/milestones and drive network engagement opportunities both within grant cohorts and across similar investments. The Senior Team Lead will ensure alignment with department, office and program objectives while collaborating with operational and development functions to achieve growth and greater impact and effectively manage implementation. This position will be responsible for approximately $25 million in planned investments each year for the next five years.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads the execution of national passthrough funding for Scaling for Success Initiative (approximately $25 million/year for the next five years).
- Organizes and leads a cross-functional core team responsible for coordinating efforts to implement, market and evaluate the Scaling for Success Initiative.
- Designs and manages the vetting and selection of CIS affiliate organizations to receive subgrants; includes setting criteria for selection, directing the proposal review process, and ensuring communications to the network on awards. This includes:
- Directly support a cohort of approximately 20 affiliates currently receiving investments through monitoring progress, technical assistance, practice improvement, sustainability, and engagement.
- In collaboration with Finance, Research and Advancement, develop scopes of work for each subrecipient agreement (SRA), including clear deliverables, timelines, and payment schedules.
- In collaboration with Advancement, ensures all grant deliverables are met and synthesizes reports for funders.
- Design and lead a process to ensure all scaling investments made by the national office into the CIS network are managed effectively, including resources spent down according to budgets, programmatic requirements are met, and all deliverables and reports are submitted on time.
- Manage a process for organizing and collecting data, best practices, and success stories from network investments to meet the needs of Advancement, Policy, Communications, Learning and Practice and other stakeholders.
- Supervise 2-3 Strategic Investment Associates, to ensure all budget and administrative requirements are met. Ensure timely communication of all processes, challenges, etc. and collection of narratives and updated budgets. Manages the team to ensure goals and milestones are being met for all pass thru programmatic investments.
- Assist with other Student Supports Department projects or network investment strategy needs as identified.

Required skills & qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent years of experience) and minimum six (6) years of relevant professional experience including experience working in a grant making/program office capacity, program implementation, and/or youth development.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think critically and proven ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Experience creating systems and processes and training others to use them.
- Basic understanding of creating, managing, and tracking budgets.
- Excellent Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with appropriate discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as both a team member and independent contributor.
- Plan, organize, and execute multiple projects deliverables with overlapping deadlines.
- Communicate technical requirements and easily identify the nuances/caveats within a project.
- Strong attention to detail to be able to call attention to inconsistencies, identify the frequency/depth of an issue, quickly identify solutions to problems within established timeframe.
