The Director of Business Development – Crypto will be responsible for developing and executing the business development strategy for Bakkt across key industry sectors. This includes sourcing, qualifying, developing joint solutions, negotiating, and formalizing the commercial relationship with investment firms, RIAs, broker dealers, fintechs, high-net worth advisors and other partners in the crypto ecosystem that meet Bakkt’s ideal client profile. We are looking for individuals who bring experience in one or more of these domains: 

· Crypto Ecosystem: firms engaged in institutional level crypto custody, liquidity, trading and related services. 

· Investment Space:?top brands in the investment space with an active crypto strategy and live products 

You will be responsible for selling into accounts across our Go to Market, Product, Marketing, Design, Legal and Risk teams driving partner commercial, launch and activation programs. You will be a subject matter expert on the business models and our product set relevant the brands in your domain. Demonstrating your knowledge of existing partner offerings and how to position Bakkt’s crypto offering through the lens of the partner’s business objectives and embedded in their value proposition and (if applicable)digital experiences will be key. You will be adept at articulating the rapidly changing industry trends and impact on your Partners to help build joint differentiated solutions. 

As a core member of the Sales and Marketing team, you’ll be responsible for developing strategies and sales roadmap to increase market share, brand, market awareness and consumer adoption. In terms of the day to day, you’ll develop and evolve a land and expand strategy and business plan for each client and take accountability to drive adoption, revenue generation and gain internal support for thoughtful investments. You’ll drive organizational support of all contractual commitments made by cross functional teams in support of your clients and sectors.?  

The ideal candidate will come with an extensive network that includes C-Level contacts in their domain. Finally, success means achieving ambitious new client acquisition targets.



· Bachelor’s degree required, in business or related field preferred 

· 8+ years of overall sales related work experience 

· Demonstrated experience or knowledge of the crypto space and ecosystem? 

· Have worked with 2 or more successful companies in the above domains 

· 4+ years of experience in enterprise business development or enterprise sales related  function 

· Experience consistently meeting and exceeding targets and goals 

· Significant experience in negotiating, influencing, and presenting and influencing at executive level 

· Experience leading cross functional initiatives and deals within a matrixed organization 

· Demonstrated ability to manage several complex partner cycles concurrently 

· A deadline and target / KPI driven leader who is comfortable forecasting future results 

· Expected travel of up to 30%  

· Experience and appreciation for the value of tracking business development leads and pipeline in Salesforce 

· Comfortable working in an extremely fast-paced, results-oriented environment 

· Experience in the crypto space
