The Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading the accounting staff in executing financial transactions and ensuring accurate financial information is executed and maintained for compliance, reporting, and other business purposes. This role will work closely with leadership to make sure appropriate financial policies and procedures are in place along with the requisite systems to enable growth.


Key Responsibilities

· Supervises the work of team members in completion of various accounting tasks, including AP, AR, recurring and nonstandard journal entries, sales tax compliance, and other items.

· Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring strong internal controls.

· Ensures all accounting transactions are properly optimized, controlled, and accounted for.

· Responsible for the month end close process, including timely preparation of financial statements

· Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

· Collaborates across finance team and organization on systems implementation and best practices

· Create ad hoc reports as needed

· Other projects and responsibilities, as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Experience

· Accounting or Finance degree 

· 5+ years accounting/finance experience with progressive growth in responsibility, including 2+ years managerial experience or similar role.

· Experience leading the financial close process with cloud-based accounting systems and data management platforms.

· Experience with GAAP accounting and working in businesses with a subscription based recurring revenue business model.

· Strong Excel and IT Systems skills

· Inquisitive mindset

· Self-starter who can lead accounting team while digging into the details when needed.


Preferred

· CPA and/or MBA in Finance/Accounting 

· Public accounting experience

· Cybersecurity and/or SaaS experience
