New Hires eligible for a $1000 signing bonus

Position purpose: To provide high quality clinical care to all Esperanza patients during their medical visits. The Medical Assistant will assist health providers and other staff to ensure proper workflow.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Takes patients’ vital signs; prepares patients for examinations, giving them instructions based upon the reason for the visit

2. Performs initial interviews with new patients, obtaining pertinent medical history information for use by the healthcare provider during examinations.

3. Assists health care provider with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. Obtains consent for procedures as necessary.

4. Keeps inventory and orders monthly supply of immunizations through Vaccines for Children (VFC) program as well as keeps up-to-date inventory of logbook.

5. Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures. Monitors and restocks supplies; ensures proper functioning of equipment. Notifies supervisor of malfunctioning equipment and completes corrective action log.

6. Performs Phlebotomy, Point of Care Testing (POCT) and EKG’s in accordance with established standards, practices, policies and procedures.

7. Administers immunizations and injections as ordered by the healthcare provider and records appropriately in the medical record. Responsible for proper storage of immunizations

1. Completion of a Medical Assistant or LPN program or at least 1 year of experience as MA or LPN training, required

2. Knowledge of billing procedures and medical terminology

3. Experience with Electronic Health Records

4. Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills and telephone skills

5. Bilingual Spanish/English, required
