Description

MeatEater, Inc. is seeking a highly-motivated and creative person to join MeatEater’s Production team as a Video Editor. As an Editor for the MeatEater brand, you will join a post team that tackles everything from short form documentary style pieces to long form narrative content to comedic social media videos for the MeatEater brand and its network of thought-leading outdoor influencers, channels and accounts. You must have experience working at or with an outdoor brand, experience in narrative and episodic video editing, experience creative problem solving, and have excellent communication skills. 

Requirements
  • Edit documentary narrative episodic, short and long form, videos for the MeatEater network
  • Quickly assemble edits and implement notes from creatives and company stakeholders
  • Choose appropriate music for pieces you edit that are on brand with company standards
  • Collaborate with the production, hunt, fish, culinary and social media teams on executing the creative vision of brand
  • Mix audio, color correction
  • Screen videos, note feedback, and revise as needed
  • Create trailers and teasers for various platforms (IG, FB, YT, etc.)
  • Proficient with the Adobe Suite
  • Passion for video editing and storytelling
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player with positive, proactive, problem solving attitude
  • Comfortable editing content about hunting and fishing and writing scratch voiceover to carry narrative
  • Ability to work on tight turnarounds and deadlines
  • Organizational skills and ability to multi-task and follow up in an ever changing, fast paced environment
  • Experience working at or in partnership with an outdoor company or brand(s). 
  • Other duties as beneficial to MeatEater, Inc. 
  • Willingness to relocate to Bozeman, MT

Preferred qualifications

  • Adobe After Effects and motion graphic proficiency is a major plus
  • Understanding of latest trends in video editing and motion graphics
  • Understanding of social media, videos and YouTube best practices 
  • Proven ability to drive progress in a start-up environment 
  • Interest in hunting, fishing, cooking and conservation

Experience

  • BA or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience video editing either documentary or narrative for film or TV
