Description

Job Summary

The Industrial Electrician will install or maintain electrical systems for equipment or facilities in accordance with Iowa State Building and Electrical codes.


Candidates MUST be able to:

  1. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct electrical problems in manufacturing equipment.
  2. Install, remove, repair, overhaul, and test electrical equipment.
  3. Perform installation, removal, and repair of electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, starters, controllers, and PLC's. 
  4. Assist in the diagnosis of electrical problems, and recommend solutions. 
  5. Maintain high levels of safety awareness at all times.
  6. Meet current electrical codes and company practices. 
  7. Be proficient in the appropriate Iowa State Building and Electrical Codes.
  8. Read electrical and other related blueprints. 
  9. Work in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  10. Follow lockout/tagout procedures. 
  11. All other duties as assigned. 
Requirements

Required Education, Training or Experience

Associate’s degree (A.A.) in an Industrial Electrician program or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. Must have a valid Electrical License. Must have a valid Iowa Driver’s License and able to drive company vehicles.


Required Education, Training or Experience

  • Must be fully trained and able to perform 50% or more of the required job tasks in the assigned department.
  • Minimum of 18 months of related experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read measurement tools.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.


Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials up to or exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be 8-10 hours)


Work Environment

Employees must be able to cope with Iowa climates; endure heat and cold conditions in the building. Fast paced workloads and loud noise levels are normal. Paint fumes and exposure to chemicals associated may be present. Personal Protective Equipment as required by OSHA will be provided by the Company.
