Job Summary: 

Our company is searching for experienced candidates for the position of Senior Electrical/Firmware Engineer to join our growing team. As part of the team, this position is responsible for the design and development of new high-security locks and locking systems as well as support and maintenance for existing products. The position requires a high level of responsibility and ownership, and requires the management of multiple objectives, projects, and activities at one time.


Responsibilities:

· Research, analyze and design electronic hardware with latest technology embedded microcontrollers, analog and digital components and circuits

· Create PCB schematics and layouts for new products, prototypes, and manufacturing test fixtures

· Design, code, test and document new embedded firmware applications or feature enhancements to existing applications

· Perform code reviews, unit testing, and system testing

· Manage the delivery of test data and documentation for agency certification

· Stay abreast of competitive products in residential, commercial and government segments. Champion and perform analysis of competitive products.

· Investigate new/existing technologies

· Lead cross-functional delivery teams and development partners to provide technical support and drive project deliverables

· Partner with Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain to drive product and business operational improvements

Requirements

  

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills Track record of successful project delivery.
  •  Knowledge of C, C++, Java, C#, .NET
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in the development of embedded electronics and similar components.
  • Experience in code management tools such as SVN, GIT, and Perforce
  •  Skilled in PCB schematic and layout design
  •  Strong knowledge of test and measurement equipment including oscilloscopes, multi-meters, data acquisition and EMC test equipment· Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. 
  • Ability to think creatively and seek innovative solutions to complex technical/business problems.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal/team skills


Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronics, engineering, or computer science required or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a world class manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a professional environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
Salary Description
Salary $90-120K annually
