Position Summary:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for creating a unified voice across the organization, through both traditional and digital media for our members, stakeholders, and donor audiences.

Entry Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, business management, marketing or a related field is preferred.
- 2 years or more experience in community engagement, or another acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License and acceptable driving record; proof of automobile insurance; and personal reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in telephone, written, and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with social media platforms and use.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 2013 programs.
- Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign.
- Ability and willingness to work collaboratively as a team member.
- Ability and willingness to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
- Have legible and attractive handwriting/penmanship.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills.
- Be able to work under short deadlines and high-pressure situations.
- Be prepared to handle other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Marketing
- Work with Resource Development Director to create a unified voice across the organization, through both traditional and digital media for our members, stakeholders, and donor audiences.
- Coordinate materials for current and new programs within the organization.
- Maintain and update website as needed.
- Create and coordinate all documents in support of events including promotional materials, sponsorship packages, and case statements.
- Build the Y brand across Marion and Polk Counties, raising awareness about the Y’s impact in each community we touch
Publications
- Coordinate all types of communication and messaging about the Family YMCA of Marion and Polk Counties including but not limited to quarterly newsletters, bi-monthly donor newsletters and brochures, event documents and donor appreciation communications.
- Act as staff photographer with a focus on thanking donors, and engaging members in Y programs.
- Support events with Power Point presentations, programs, and signage as needed.
- Support social media in collaboration with Resource Development and Leadership team.
- Act as liaison between graphic and production vendors when necessary.
- Prioritize internal and external communications with Y staff, stakeholders, donors, and community partners
Other
- Attend Leadership staff meetings and events as needed.
- Communicate professionally, respectfully, and supportively with internal team members, external partners, and board members.
- Promote a positive working environment by adhering to the YMCA Code of Conduct.
- Conduct the business of the YMCA to maintain and increase its goodwill and reputation in the community, consistent with professional and ethical standards of behavior.
- Support all YMCA branches in the organization with communications and marketing tasks.
- Other Marketing and Communications duties as assigned.
