CADD Technician
Description

Summary

The CADD Technician is responsible for creating and preparing drawings and topographical maps to be used in construction projects such as highways, bridges, pipelines, flood-control projects, and water and sewage systems. This position is also responsible for redline corrections. 


Primary Responsibilities

1. Create drawings for construction and infrastructure projects.

2. Draw topographical maps to aid construction workers and architects.

3. Create visual guidelines for construction purposes.

4. Draft technical details.

5. Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures.

6. Draw minute details of structures.

7. Consult technical handbooks and tables while in drafting phase.

8. Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems to prepare drawings.

9. Create, store, and manage drawings electronically.

10. Prepare variations of design.

11. Prepare engineering drawings that detail plans and specifications.

12. Prepare drawings and topographical relief maps to be used in highways, bridges, pipelines, flood-control projects, water and sewage systems, and other infrastructure projects.

13. Create designs used in the layout, construction, and operation of oil and gas fields, refineries, chemical plants, electrical facilities, and process piping systems.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Must have electrical experience. Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D, Revit, Microstation, and GeoPak are required.  Education and/or Experience: Associate degree in CAD and a minimum of 5 years experience with civil design and survey drafting.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Hours are somewhat flexible and some late evenings may be required.
