POL Quality Control Managers/Quality Control Specialists


Position Summary:
Responsible for overall management of the QC program and acting in all QC matters for the contractor. Will coordinate, implement, oversee, and document the quality control program on DoD POL projects, and identify, analyze, and develop improvements in productivity and client service as they relate to the quality management system.

Ideal experience includes installation of piping and valves, mechanical repairs or upgrades, tank construction or repair, application of MIL DTL 24441 coatings, API & SSPC inspections, commissioning of POL systems, and related repairs. Functional expertise and broad knowledge in tank inspection, cleaning, and repair, as well as fuel facility piping systems, is preferred.

Requirements

  

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Five (5) years of DoD POL construction-related management experience within the last five (5) years (commercial or military experience does not apply)
  • Three (3) consecutive years of on-site experience as a POL Quality Control Specialist within the last five (5) years
  • Associate’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering, or a High School Diploma/GED with equivalent field experience
  • Certificate of completion from a USACE or NAVFAC QC Management course (current, not older than 4 years)
  • Ability to meet eligibility requirements for access to U.S. Government facilities (security clearance not required)

Certifications Required (must be current or obtainable):

  • OSHA 30-Hour Training Certificate (not older than 5 years)
  • Confined Space Competent Person Certificate
  • Current CPR & AED Certificate

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to represent the company verbally, in writing, and in person
  • Ability to make decisions and take responsibility for results
  • Strong understanding of construction-related technologies, quality activities, and quality auditing
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications, technical instructions, and reports
  • Familiarity with POL-related and general construction disciplines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong collaboration skills for the implementation of QC processes

  

Physical Requirement: 

This position required Team Members to work in the Field and office settings. When working in the field, Team Members will work around moving heavy machinery, equipment, and outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, humidity, and cold. The noise level may be loud at times due to the presence of machinery and equipment. Must be able to move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. using abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support repetitively for 10 to 20

minute intervals without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs for the duration of the shift. When in the office, Team Members can anticipate Sedentary work in a climate-controlled environment with moderate noise levels. Most duties require the use of a computer, phone, and participation in in-person or virtual meetings. Maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods during the shift. Constant operation of computer and other office equipment such as copy machine, phone, and printer. Occasionally, transport objects up to 15 lbs. such as small parcels, packages, and other items.
