 Job Description: 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Scientist to join the Computational Chemistry group within Morphic Therapeutic.

Essential Job Functions:

· Design and carry out virtual screens on novel targets of interest

· Deploy state-of-the-art structure-based and ligand-based modeling approaches to drive medicinal chemistry design efforts

· Work with structural biology, medicinal chemistry, DMPK, and data sciences colleagues to interpret results and recommend improvement strategies

· As part of multi-disciplinary design teams, contribute to the success of discovery project team goals ranging from early stage (target ID and hit finding) to late stage (Lead optimization and development candidate identification.)

· Contribute to the development and implementation of the Computational Chemistry strategy at Morphic

· Communicate scientific results effectively internally as well as in external presentations and publications

Qualifications:

Required

· Ph.D. in computational chemistry or a related field with 5 years of experience post PhD

· Working knowledge of medicinal chemistry and DMPK principles

· A demonstrated understanding of 3D protein-ligand energetics and their application to molecular design

· Experience with current commercial molecular modeling packages 

· Excellent oral and written communication skills and good presentation skills

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented team environment

Desired

· 3+ years of industry experience is preferred 

· Working knowledge of Schrödinger Modelling package (Glide, Desmond, FEP+) is strongly preferred.
