Description

Diagnose and repair operational problems with boiler controls and boiler accessories.   New machine installation, start-ups, repairs and selling service and service contracts.

Education/Experience: High school diploma and minimum of two years related experience and/or training or equivalent of education and experience. Complete knowledge of commercial and industrial boiler room units. Experience in Programmable Logic and Direct Digital Controls, combustion, combustion controls, emissions, efficiency testing, flame safe guard controls, HVACR  systems, steam systems and electrical.   

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient and have basic   knowledge of computers and MS Office Suite.  Control software experience is required.   

Certificates and Licenses: Valid Driver’s License, Apprentice or Journeyman License.  First or Second Grade Engineer’s License optional.  

Language Ability:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,  proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.  

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Technician will work daily at customer sites where climate and noise levels will vary.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned:   

· Adhere to all Tate Safety Protocol at all times – “Safety First”  

· Conduct business always based on Tate Core Values to promote Tate Service  

Culture and strive for harmony and teamwork with all departments  

· Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers ? Attend required vendor training and company sponsored classes

 -Maintain truck stock inventory – repair parts  

· Maintain company vehicle in clean manner (inside and out), drive safely and adhere to all  

driving laws.  

· Maintain a clean driving record  

· Maintain regular attendance  

· Assist inside service or sales by identifying and submitting 5 Technician Lead per week   · Prepare and submit accurate service tickets for all work performed daily  

· Assist with training less experience personnel  

· Maintain records concerning time, labor and materials and logs of tasks performed  

· Troubleshoot and repair equipment  

· Perform installation upgrades to include Gas conversion, flame safeguard, and Parallel  
Positioning controls  

· Perform preventative maintenance to include open, clean, close, fire and set combustion,  
emission analysis  

· Equipment and system start-up per Manufacturer  

· On call 24/7 as scheduled   

· Procure repair parts as needed   

· Maintain vendor software and perform updates and backups as required   · Download and back up Control files for customer equipment  

· Other duties and cross training as assigned
