Description: Lourdes University invites applicants for adjunct faculty in the Department of Mathematics. In particular, we seek an engaging instructor to teach college algebra, precalculus, and/or statistics.
Essential Functions:
• Deliver in-person instruction that ensures the curriculum design is consistent with best practices and addresses the needs of various programs.
• Present a dynamic classroom presence.
• Evaluate student work & provide feedback in a timely manner.
• Reply to student emails in a timely manner.
• Respond to institutional requests in a timely manner.
• Assist with assessment as needed by the department.
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to work with traditional students as well as adult learners.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching and/or demonstrated experience in Mathematics in a professional role
• Commitment to working with a diverse student, faculty, and staff population.
• Ability to use educational technology and software.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics; or a master’s degree or higher in a related field with 18 hours of graduate coursework in Mathematics; or ABD in Mathematics with active progress toward degree completion and at least 36 credit hours of graduate course work in Mathematics.
• Evidence of effective teaching at the college level a plus.
