THE POSITION
The Test Fire Technician plays a critical role in our quality assurance process, ensuring that each firearm leaving the Gun Shop performs to Staccato’s exacting standards. This individual is responsible for conducting live-fire tests, diagnosing mechanical issues, and providing feedback to assembly and gunsmithing teams to uphold the highest level of firearm performance and safety.
JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES
- Conduct live-fire testing of handguns in a controlled environment to verify function, accuracy, and reliability.
- Identify and document malfunctions, inconsistencies, or defects discovered during testing
- Collaborate with gunsmiths, assemblers, and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve firearm performance issues.
- Maintain detailed records of all test results and corrective actions taken.
- Ensure all firearms meet internal standards and compliance requirements before moving to the next production phase.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback and suggestions to improve function, quality, and safety.
- Maintain clthe eanliness and safety of the test fire area, including proper disposal of spent casings and routine maintenance of testing equipment.
- Follow all company safety protocols and wear proper PPE at all times.

In addition to general team member expectations, this role requires the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification in firearms or mechanical systems is a plus.
- Prior experience with firearms, particularly semi-automatic pistols, in a professional, military, or competitive setting.
- Strong knowledge of firearm mechanics and basic ballistics.
- Comfortable and competent in live-fire environments.
- Excellent attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative production team.
- Must pass a background check and meet all legal requirements for handling firearms.
