Case Manager Training and Development Specialist
We are looking for a friendly and skilled individual who is interested in joining our Case Management Training and Development team as a Training and Development Specialist.
The Training & Development Specialist for Case Management will assist with training Case Managers and Client Relation Coordinators at Pinnacle Services, as well as monitor quality assurance. This person will assist in building new CM's and CRC's knowledge of the programs and contracts we work with, such as eligibility requirement for the program or contract, the services offered under each program or contract, and the CM's and CRC's role in the program or contracts, and the people we serve. This person will assist CM's and CRC's while building a caseload and understanding the various responsibilities around managing a client caseload. In addition to training, this person will be performing quality assurance to ensure DHS compliance and help ensure appropriate standards are upheld in the work we do. This is monitored by completing audits of client files to ensure all compliant paperwork and documentation is filed, as well as monitoring employee performance and productivity to help assist in the success of each CM and CRC - this may often include providing ongoing training and retraining as needed for current CM's and CRC's.
Some additional overview of responsibilities is as follows:
- Researching gaps in training content and materials that need updating to generate higher productivity and safety among staff.
- Evaluate and refine existing courses and tracks based on feedback and effectiveness.
- Researching new training supplies and materials that can enhance training procedures while providing value to employees.
- Update and upload training materials, including on-the-job check sheets to ensure they target plant goals and objectives.
- Resolving any specific problems and tailoring training programs as necessary.
- Identifying future training needs and creating a curriculum to facilitate that training.
- Communicating with management, trainers and team members to ensure that all needs are met.
- Conducting orientation programs and arranging on-the-job training for new hires.
- Communicate with department employees on training opportunities and resources to improve quality of work.
- Develop and design courses and resources using PowerPoint, Excel, Word, OneNote.
- Write script and audio content for virtual trainings.
- Audit current processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Quality Assurance auditing for Department File Compliance.
- Train employees in using EMR systems effectively for their roles.
- Manage and monitor employee training records and qualifications. Evaluate training effectiveness.
- Assist the Training Supervisor in identifying and ensuring employees are properly trained for all required OSHA and company specific health & safety requirements.
- Assist with the planning and execution of department training events.
- Act as a leader and supervisor for Case Managers in training.
May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
How will you make a difference?
- Assess CM's and CRC's engagement and learning while conducting training, communicate findings to appropriate supervisor(s) upon request or when areas of growth or concerns are present, to help promote and encourage success for each CM and CRC.
- Train new and established CM's and CRC's on job requirements related to productivity, as well as strategies for meeting those requirements.
- Cooperate with supervisor and the organization in matters related to the training and quality assurance of case management services – promoting compliancy standards and ethical practice.
- Support the implementation of all policies, procedures, and record keeping systems related to personnel and training. Ensure the evolution of department training sessions and materials according to organizational goals.
- Caseload work or coverage may arise through the course of conducting training and quality assurance duties or based on the needs of the department. This highlights the strength of collaborating and providing support when it’s needed, which directly impacts the support of the people served.
- Assure quality through keeping up to date with DHS resources, auditing contracts monthly to ensure compliance with counties, one of the ways this is supported is by attending Contract internal meetings.
- Assist with coordinating and hosting monthly trainings, such as a Lunch and Learn; frequent training opportunities and resources offered to the Case Management Department.

- At least six months of case management experience working with CADI, AC, EW, or DD waivers.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills to communicate, both orally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with all levels of management and staff.
- Ability to change and adapt to current and future responsibilities and circumstances.
- Possess an understanding of the company’s vision and desire to strive towards company’s goals, including the importance behind Billable Units and hitting targets.
- Demonstrate ability to perform multiple tasks under limited supervision, pay close attention to details, follow tasks to completion, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on-site, remote flexibility with 3 days per week.
- Creative and innovate ways to improve our training resources and opportunities provided to the Case Management Department.
- Instructional Design: Proven ability to create training programs through identifying needs, defining objectives, and developing content and assessments.
- Data Analysis: Skills in providing data analysis support, tracking key metrics, and generating reports.
- Technical Communication: Comfortable and efficient with conveying information on complex topics clearly and concisely to audiences with a wide range of experience in subject matter.
- L&D Technologies: Adept with a variety of multimedia authoring, publishing, and conferencing software with specific preference given to Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Brainshark, Screencast-O-Matic, ZOOM, and Articulate360.
- Collaborative: Experience partnering with subject matter experts to create effective and compelling training materials.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, to ensure projects are correctly prioritized, on time, and produce a high-quality end product.
- LMS Administration: Proficiency in implementing new features, auditing processes, developing SOPs, and maintaining data integrity.
Case Manager Training and Development Specialist Qualifications:
- 6+ months CADI, AC, EW, or DD waiver Case Management experience.
- Be a graduate from an accredited four-year college with a major in social work, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field. OR
- Be a graduate from an accredited four-year college with a major in any field and one year of experience as a social worker/case manager/care coordinator in a public or private social service agency.
