Description

Job summary: The Paint Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates for industrial coatings jobs. This role requires an individual who can interpret client specifications, develop detailed proposals, and communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Review client specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and materials needed for industrial coatings jobs.
  • Conduct site visits to assess the conditions and requirements for each job.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to develop detailed proposals that meet client needs and budgets.
  • Analyze project costs, labor, and material requirements to ensure proposals are accurate and competitive.
  • Maintain accurate records of proposals, contracts, and job progress.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings to ensure the smooth transition of projects to the operations team.


Requirements

Essential qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in industrial coatings or a related field.
  • 2 years of estimating experience.
  • Knowledge of coatings materials, equipment, and application techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Working conditions:

  • Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week.
  • May require occasional travel to job sites.
  • May require work outside of normal business hours to meet project deadlines.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
