Description

Pacific Aerospace & Electronics, located in Wenatchee, WA, is currently looking for an experienced Process Engineer to join our team. Under guidance of a manager, or other senior staff members, the Process Engineer will apply advanced engineering techniques, evaluate technical and economic factors, and implement engineering and manufacturing actions that improve the performance of a new, state-of-the-art plating department. Additionally, the employee in this role will conduct process improvement or product development projects to attain year-over-year reduction in defect rates. 


Primary Responsibilities 

  • Provide principal investigation skills in process/product improvement and development.
  • Develop testing plans to improve critical processes.
  • Document all testing, results and other information pertinent to the process.
  • Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Perform engineering assignments that involve product design, process studies, production tooling, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, and research investigations. 
  • Prepare and conduct tests of plating processes to investigate possible failure modes for improving products.
  • Assist in evaluation, testing, validation, and implementation of plating processes with appropriate work instructions.
  • Review plans for new products and processes and make recommendations to ensure attainment of design objectives.
  • Interact with production staff to minimize/solve plating obstacles.
  • Perform root cause analysis on specific issues to identify a sustainable corrective action. 
  • Under minimal direction, plan and execute testing, experiments, test parameters and collection of data.
  • Plan and implement laboratory operations to develop material and fabrication procedures for new materials to obtain performance and cost requirements.
  • Using feedback, generate creative solutions and translate those concepts and information into images and/or work instructions.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the microelectronics hermetic packaging industry with hands on engineering roles
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Ceramic Engineering or equivalent.

Salary Description
$75,000 to $100,000 per annum
