Description

SUMMARY: The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will cover a specific territory to further develop our business, maintain existing relationships/accounts, and meet sales goals. The Mid-West territory covers the following states:  MN, WI, MI, IA, IL, IN, OH, KY, WV. The Mid-West Regional Sales Manager must reside in the territory.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 


Field Work (70%)

· Collaborates with Director of Eastern Regional Sales to effectively communicate territorial sales strategy to Distributor management.

· Responsible for executing Silver Oak | Twomey | Ovid | Timeless strategy within the sales territory.

· Manage and work with distributors and their sales reps to achieve volume and new placement goals, with a focus on brand additive On Premise accounts. 

· Penetrates top-tier prestige accounts in assigned territory. 

· Work with Director of Eastern Regional Sales to manage pricing, programming, and inventory.

· Conduct brand education, trains and coach’s distributor sales reps and managers regarding our wines and company story.

· Conduct wine tastings, trade events and wine dinners for consumers, often on weekends and evenings.

· Develop agendas, presentations and participate in sales meetings and business reviews.

· Use company resources efficiently, prepare and execute on approved budget for territory expenses. 


Administrative Work (30%)

· Analyze sales information to implement Silver Oak | Twomey | OVID | Timeless brand strategies and objectives.

· Manage and forecast sales to meet quarterly sales targets while operating within budget. 

· Regularly report on sales progress and distribution initiatives.

· Maintain regular communications with inside sales team and sales management.

· Provide same day response to customer and company communications.

· Work with the Director of Eastern Regional Sales to target appropriate accounts. Allocate wines, monitors, and engage with accounts to enhance brand equity.

· Responsible for marketing intelligence gathering; review market sales performance and other sales related data.

· Manage fulfillment of territory National Account objectives in coordination with NA lead.

· Regularly communicates with the Director of Eastern Regional Sales regarding market work, sales progress, distribution initiatives, and market conditions.

· Collaborate with Wholesale Work Group structure, joins meetings for assigned work groups, actively shares new ideas and thoughtful comments on Work Groups regular topics.

· Ensure retail pricing is consistent with company guidance.

· Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFYING SKILLS:

· Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.

· 3-5 years of related work experience. Wine industry experience preferred.

· Impeccable professional conduct, integrity and reliability. 

· Professional approach and demeanor.

· Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and with a CRM system. Experience with DeVineWare preferred. 

· Highly motivated, self-starting individual with superb time management skills, a positive attitude, who can work independently or as part of a team.

· Excellent managerial and selling skills. Experience managing supplier relations with wholesalers at sales staff and management levels.

· Ability and desire to travel frequently within territory for meetings, market visits, presentations, and market support.

· Objective oriented, focused, and assertive individual who can meet and exceed sales targets.

· Existing contacts and strong relationships with key on and off-premise accounts.

· Demonstrated success in business development and increasing case volume.

· Persuasive public speaking and presentation skills, ability to make effective group presentations. 

· Strong business writing and mathematical skills.

· Proven ability to track details and manage information.

· Embrace innovation and demonstrate entrepreneurial mindset.

· Demonstrate good judgment and makes sound business decisions on behalf of the company.

· Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

· Extensive weekly travel within the territory.

· Positive, self-starter, proactive and responsive.

· Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.

· Understand and respond to a diverse population.

· Lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, including a briefcase and/or sales materials. 

· In most territories, travel is required by car. 


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Works in an office setting.

· Extensive travel is necessary in multiple modes.

Salary Description
$93,000 to $116,500 based on experience
