Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) was founded as a 501(c) (3) non-profit medical institution in 2005 aimed at increasing access to health care in medically underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest.
The University currently offers the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine enrolling a total of 560 medical students with plans to develop other programs and/or colleges. Interprofessional education partnerships with other universities adds another 100 students to the population. The campus includes 300 employees with academic programming spread over a five state region.
PNWU is located in Yakima, WA, a city of approximately 95,000 located in the south central part of the state near the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains in a major agricultural and outdoor recreation region. The Student Records Coordinator assists the Assistant Registrar, under the direction of the Director of Enrollment Services, in all functional areas including academic verifications, grading, student requirements, and academic record maintenance. Duties include data entry, management of the student academic record, participation in on- and off-campus activities, and monitoring academic guidelines. Requires a student/customer service oriented individual familiar with general university procedures, policies, services, and ability to assist any student, potential student, their families, faculty, staff, and university visitor at all times.
Essential Job Functions:
• Document management
o Responsible for reviewing and maintaining student documents; immunizations, transcripts, etc.
o Responsible for maintaining student records
o Responsible for document management and assists with record retention
• Updating student records, completing student record requests, and tracking requirements
o Uploading and downloading student data to and from web databases and student information system
o Responsible for enrollment and degree verifications and academic standing
o Understand and comply with FERPA
o Responsible for grade entry, monitor due dates, grade changes, and academic standing guidelines
o Producing transcripts and diplomas
• Communication and reporting
o Counseling students on missing requirements
o Communicating student status and reports to other university offices
o Verbal and written communications in a professional manner
• Participate in graduation, and on- and off-campus events
• Recommends process improvements, implement best business practices that improve and maintain customer service and communications with all university constituents
• Understands accreditation standards and expectations specific to the department and adheres to policies and procedures to meet or exceed such standards
• Conducts self appropriately and consistently in accordance with the philosophy and mission of PNWU
• Other duties as assigned
• Required: High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and education
• Two years of related experience required. Additional education may be substituted for years of work experience
