Position Summary:
Are you a detail-oriented, energetic professional ready to make a difference? Join our growing team in Charlotte, NC! We’re seeking a motivated Pathologists’ Assistant to play a crucial role in our mission of excellence. You’ll collaborate closely with a team of experienced PAs and a Gross Technician, ensuring top-notch service in a state-of-the-art lab environment. We currently have added two PA positions to join our current team of ten PAs, plus one administrative PA supervisor, and six Gross Technicians.
What You'll Do:
· Work primarily at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center with occasional coverage at Celligent Diagnostics (approximately 25 mins away). The secondary location is for PTO coverage only (approximately 25 days) and is rotated equally throughout the year amongst all PAs.
· Perform gross descriptions and dissections of surgical specimens.
· Assist with autopsy prosection and provide frozen section services.
· Engage in specimen photography, radiography, and digital slide scanning.
· Collaborate with pathologists and surgeons daily for frozen section and grossing complex specimens.
· We offer flexible scheduling options, including four 10-hour shifts (9am-7:30pm) or five 8-hour shifts (11:00am-7:30pm), with opportunities for alternative schedules, including weekends and/or 3rd shift.
· Weekend coverage is on a rotating schedule and occurs approximately once every three months.
Requirements:
· Graduate of a NAACLS accredited program and ASCP certification.
· At least 1 year of experience working with highly complex specimens in a fast-paced environment.
· Prior experience preferred, but new graduates with experience working in fast-paced labs in school rotations are welcome to apply.
