Job Summary
The Tooling Technician is responsible for maintaining required tooling setups on the shop floor and in the Tool Room by preparing tools for cleaning, sharpening, service work, and inspection of tools for damage.
1st shift: 6am-4:30pm
minimum wage $20 per hour but negotiable based on experience
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administers tooling changes on production floor and consults with Tooling Manager about tooling and machining problems.
- Evaluates incoming tools for in-house sharpening or outsource service work, including identifying defects or damages and then generates stock requisitions for standard tooling.
- Prepares tools for cleaning and sharpening processes and operates grinding equipment using proper sharpening procedures.
- Operates shapers and saws for setups.
- Assists Maintenance with any machine problems or tasks that may require assistance.
- Assists Molder Operator with setups and quality specifications to ensure good quality parts, maintaining and grinding all new and current molder tooling as directed by Manager.
- Assists Inventory Control with any issues involving the Molder, i.e. training, operations or material.
Requirements
- High School education or up to one month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two year trade school or equivalent experience
