Reports To: Director of Aftermarket


Job Summary

The Field Service Technician is a key member of the AMP Aftermarket team and reports to the Director of Aftermarket. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about customer satisfaction, excited to learn new things, and dedicated to solving problems.

  • None


Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Provide in-person support for machine installation, commissioning, and maintenance. Work hands-on with large industrial processing equipment.
  • As needed, manage relationships with third-party millwrights to accomplish complex work at customer sites.
  • Understand customer processes and provide recommendations for improvement, including through new equipment and/or refurbishments.
  • Respond to customer requests via phone and email, helping to answer technical questions, quote custom Aftermarket solutions, place orders, and provide needed information.
  • Advocate for customers across the organization by building relationship with Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, and other teams.


Required Skills/Abilities/Traits

  • Technical: Solid understanding of large industrial equipment, with focus on mechanical
  • Physical: Ability to travel up to 75% and lift up to 50lbs
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Relationship-building: Able to drive customer success via relationships within AMP as well as with customers

  • Organization: Ability to prioritize and communicate across multiple projects and multiple teams at the same time

The ideal candidate will reside near a major airport.


Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • 2+ years in a hands-on, mechanical role, preferably customer-facing
  • Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.) a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, etc.) a plus


Physical Requirements:

  • Travel: Up to 75%
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
