Description
Compass Engineering Field Service Technician
As a Service Engineer, you will provide critical onsite support to customers, and maintain their instrumentation in a wide range of fast-paced facilities. This position requires time management, communication skills, strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a high demand environment.
Responsibilities:
- Always represents the company in a professional manner with integrity, while providing outstanding customer service that aligns with Compass Engineering’s vision and values.
- Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact on-site and responsible for the equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by proper execution of preventive maintenance, modifications, diagnosing, and repairing equipment at customers’ location.
- Responsible for submitting accurate field service reports, expense reports, and other necessary paperwork.
- Must recognize and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies that are applicable to each location.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills to provide on-site and phone support for customers, field service engineers and other service team members.
- Must be a self-starter and able to perform assigned tasks efficiently with no supervision.
- Must be able to read, interpret and understand manufacturers’ equipment technical manuals.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- The ability to communicate technical concepts and troubleshooting instructions via telephone and/or in writing.
- Must have computer knowledge and competency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as various OEM instrument software packages.

Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations.
- Electronics degree and mechanical aptitude are preferred
- May frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move heavier pieces of equipment with support equipment and/or assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
- Initial training locations and base locations in a commutable distance from Overland Park KS, Ravenna, OH, Santa Clara CA, Toledo OH, Baytown TX, & Canyon Lake TX, Saint Joseph, MI
- Up to 90% Travel.
