Job Summary:
As a Non-Profit Membership Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in generating revenue and expanding the membership base for our non-profit organization Downtown Dallas, Inc. Your primary responsibility will be to engage potential members, promote the benefits of membership, and secure new memberships, as well as sell sponsorship opportunities. This role requires a combination of excellent communication skills, strong sales acumen and expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of Downtown Dallas, Inc’s mission, values, and the value of the Membership program. The Membership Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies and monitoring sales performance to drive success.
Responsibilities:
Membership and Sponsorship Acquisition:
• Identify and target potential members and sponsors through various channels, such as online platforms, events, and networking opportunities.
• Engage with prospective members and sponsors to understand their interests, needs, and motivations.
• Effectively communicate the value proposition and benefits of membership and sponsorship to potential members.
• Conduct persuasive sales presentations and demonstrations to showcase the advantages of joining Downtown Dallas, Inc’s Membership program or sponsoring events and programs.
• Utilize sales techniques to overcome objections and close sales deals.
Sales Administration:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, prospects, and sales activities.
• Prepare sales reports and provide regular updates on sales performance, trends, and conversion rates.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate processing of membership fees and payments.
Market Research and Analysis:
• Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and best practices in membership sales and engagement.
• Conduct market research to identify potential target audiences and develop strategies to reach them effectively.
• Analyze sales data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
Relationship Building:
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing members to ensure high levels of member satisfaction and retention.
• Actively listen to member feedback and concerns, addressing them promptly and appropriately.
• Regularly update members on the non-profit organization's activities, initiatives, and benefits to enhance their engagement and loyalty.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and communications, to develop targeted strategies for member engagement and acquisition.
Qualifications:
• Three or more years of experience in managing sales, specifically in a membership-based organization or non-profit sector.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with potential members.
• Excellent negotiation and persuasive skills to effectively close membership deals.
• Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Passion for the mission and values of the non-profit organization.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required, to attend events and engage with potential members.
