Position Summary
To assist the Dispensary manager during evening/weekend hours and in the absence of the manager with daily operations, thereby providing excellent service to students, faculty, and staff in all matters relative to instruments, equipment, supplies, and materials used in quality patient care in all clinics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Distribute sterilized instruments, equipment, and necessary materials and supplies to students, staff members, and faculty utilizing the computerized tracking system according to OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
- Receive instruments and materials from providers utilizing the computerized tracking system.
- Inspect cassettes to assure all items are present, replace as necessary. Prepare, sterilize and stock cassettes ready for distribution.
- Maintain and sterilize handpieces and other equipment, always following OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
- Assist in stocking all materials and supplies and preparing procedure kits for distribution.
- Assist in accepting and packaging lab cases utilizing the computerized tracking system.
- The School of Dentistry operates two locations and you will be assigned as needed between the two.
- Performing other duties as requested, at any location.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 to 5 Years of related experience in leading a team of 10 or more employees
- Minimum 2 years experience in the dental field
- Experience in using autoclaves, ultrasonics units, and handpiece lubrication units
Preferred Qualifications
- A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and inventory control system
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Physical Requirements
- Job requires repetitively lifting light weight objects where frequent bending or stooping alternates with lighter activities.
Work Environment
- Occasional exposure to objectionable conditions or variations such as those found in variable weather conditions or light industrial settings.
Licenses/Certifications
CPR attainable within 30 days
Salary/Pay Information
Commensurate with experience
Anticipated Schedule
40 hours per week Some weekends necessary (State board exams, special projects…)
