Job Title: Outpatient Therapist

Job Summary:

The Outpatient Therapist provides comprehensive assessment and 1:1 counseling to adults, children, and adolescents, provides referrals and recommendations to assist in service connection, treatment plan development, and coordination of care for individuals, families, and their teams. These positions may be based in RMHC office locations, or remotely via Telehealth and offer flexible scheduling. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial and comprehensive evaluations
  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups
  • Develop individual treatment plans in collaboration with all members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide critical incident stress debriefing services in our local community as needed
  • Administer and interpret psychological evaluations, if qualified 
  • Provide clinical consultation services to area agencies when requested
  • Document all professional contacts in electronic health record with the appropriate degree of detail to meet clinical, insurance, legal and standards
  • When needed, provide insurance companies with appropriate prior authorization information sufficient to document the need for the services
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary case staff meetings
  • Arrange with other RMHC professional staff to ensure that services or supervision are provided in an uninterrupted fashion upon absence
  • Maintain positive working relationships with other area caregivers with whom the RMHC shares clients
  • Maintain compliance with all pertinent regulatory and statutory guidelines
  • Participate in "on call" services according to normal staff rotation schedule
  • Perform public speaking engagements to educate and inform
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Effective interpersonal communications skills, both in Computer hardware and software skills sufficient to effectively interact with RMHC software and web-based programs
  • Able to attend to nonverbal cues from a person we support in a therapy setting
  • Able to converse and interact sufficiently to effectively communicate and record information proficiently in person, by telephone, or via tele-health technology
  • Able to interact with people in a pleasant manner
  • Able to handle sensitive situations in a calm, professional manner
  • Flexible and able to prioritize workload
  • Philosophical approach consistent with the Range Mental Health Center’s mission

Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree or doctoral degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
  • Obtain and maintain appropriate credentials as a licensed provider in the state of Minnesota.
  • Two years post degree experience with appropriate clinical supervision
  • Sufficient skills and experience to be credentialed by the insurance firms with whom the RMHC has contracts

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Sufficient hearing acuity to accurately record information from a person we support, whether on the phone or in person
  • Able to articulate the English language in a manner that is sufficiently clear as to be easily understood
  • Maintain a professional level of cleanliness and physical appearance
  • Sufficient visual acuity to utilize a computer monitor 
  • Ability to use a keyboard to accurately record information in the appropriate program
