Position Summary:
Plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Activity Department in accordance with current federal and state standards, guidelines and regulations and established policies and procedures of Winner Regional Health. Assure that the ongoing activities program meets, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial needs of each resident. Supervise other staff in the Activities Department, as well as oversee volunteer activities at Winner Regional Health, serving as a key contact and coordinator for utilization and recognition of volunteers. Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of an accredited Activities Coordinator Training Program or a degree in Recreational Therapy.
Required Credentials (Licensure, Certification, or Registration):
Licensure in South Dakota as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, an Activities Professional, or an Occupational Therapist.
Employment Variables:
Scheduled 40 hours per week, generally Monday through Friday – 8 AM to 5 PM. Hours may vary, evenings and weekends to be included. Subject to multiple sensory and environmental stressors. Must maintain strict resident confidentiality at all times. Initial Tuberculosis (TB) test and drug screening is required by Winner Regional Health. Rubella titer will also be drawn upon hire and immunization is required if no past exposure or indication of immunization.
Required to wear name tag provided by WRH and to follow the dress code of WRH.
