Position Summary:

The Psychologist is responsible for providing family, individual, and group therapy; conducting psychological testing and evaluation of clients, monitoring treatment-planning efforts, and collaborating with all members of the interdisciplinary team to provide excellent care and support to the people we serve.

Essential Functions:

  • Administer and interpret psychological evaluations 
  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups
  • Perform diagnostic assessments
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary case staff meetings
  • Develop individual treatment plans with the people we serve, and if appropriate, their family members, and other involved service providers
  • Document all professional contacts in EHR
  • When needed, provide insurance companies with appropriate prior authorization information sufficient to document the need for the services
  • Arrange with other Range Mental Health Center professional staff to ensure that the services which need to be provided in an uninterrupted fashion will continue when on leave
  • Maintain positive working relationships with other area caregivers with whom the RMHC shares people
  • Responsible for the clinical supervision of staff providing services in the outpatient setting and approved interns as directed
  • Consult clinically with other programs as needed
  • Follow all pertinent regulatory and statutory guidelines and standards, and all pertinent RMHC policies and procedures
  • Participate in the clinical on-call rotation for the entire agency
  • Provide leadership of meetings or other functions when delegated to do so
  • Provide leadership and training to staff in areas of expertise
  • Promote utilization of evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate on clinic policy, procedure, and functioning
  • Participate in grant writing, applications, and reporting as needed
  • Provide clinical supervision to interns or trainees as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent clinical assessment and mental health counseling skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, general computer skills
  • Good observation, rapid assessment, and crisis management skills
  • Able to converse and interact sufficiently to effectively communicate and record information proficiently in person, written, by telephone, or via Tele-therapy
  • Able to maintain the confidentiality of interactions with the people we serve and supervisees.
  • Able to handle sensitive situations in a calm, professional manner
  • Flexible and able to prioritize workload
  • A philosophical approach consistent with the Range Mental Health Center’s mission
  • Ability to train and coach

Education and Experience:

  • Licensed Psychologist in the State of Minnesota
  • Doctoral degree in psychology
  • Obtain and maintain appropriate credentials as a licensed psychologist in the state of Minnesota
  • Two years post-degree experience with appropriate clinical supervision

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Able to articulate the English language that is sufficiently clear as to be easily understood
  • Maintain an acceptable level of physical appearance
  • Adequate level of vision to use computer terminal
  • Sufficient hearing to accurately record information received verbally
