The MRI Technician is responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients’ bodies for diagnostic purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, interviewing patients to explain MRI procedures and ensure their safety; positioning patient on exam table and set up the receivers; and entering data regarding patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture of MRI equipment. A key role of the MRI Tech is to alleviate patient concerns or fears by answering questions, offering preferred music, and providing support during test, if needed.
We are searching for a candidate who:
- possesses strong knowledge of safety and security procedures with the ability to identify and report potentially unsafe conditions, equipment and materials
- has strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians and coworkers, in both positive and negative situations
- can respond promptly to patient needs and requests for service and assistance
- will provide excellent customer service while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), various software programs, and internet applications.
Requirements:
- Minimum Associates Degree in Radiology
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) Certification
Preferred:
- MR Advanced certification through ARRT
