DESCRIPTION:

Streetsense seeks an experienced project manager to join our design collective of talented professionals in planning, architecture and placemaking. Your experience in commercial mixed-use includes an understanding in contracts, negotiation, and full scope of work from masterplanning through entitlements and all phases of design delivery. Ready to join a culture which is creative, design-focused and driven to provide a partnership with our clients and teams, you enjoy contributing to a team atmosphere, mentoring others, and can successfully navigate from concept to opening day. 


Managing multidisciplinary projects in Planning, Architecture and Placemaking, your experience will include leading the project team effort in research, analysis, design and documentation of both vertically- and horizontally-mixed use environments throughout a project lifecycle. Experience in leading subconsultants during the process will be required. 

The Urban Design studio includes collaboration with our broader collective team including real estate strategy, research and analysis and branding as one firm.


This position will report to the Managing Director of the Urban Design Studio. 


  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and manages complex and inter-departmental studio projects of a high profile
  • Ensures efficient workflow and production of deliverables
  • Communicates effectively and accurately with studio and clients
  • Maintains organized project files according to established Streetsense and/or industry standards
  • Takes a lead role in the management of creative groups - concept, vision and operations 
  • Able to effectively and clearly present work to clients and others
  • Provides direction and mentorship on discipline-related trends and design innovation
Requirements


  • Professional (Bachelor or Master’s) degree from an accredited program in architecture. 
  • Accredited professional as a licensed architect. 
  • 10+ years of post-graduate experience in commercial mixed-use including full lifecycle from entitlements through delivery, at least 5 of which are in a project manager capacity.
  • Demonstrable experience in the practice and management of Planning, Architecture and Placemaking projects.
  • Experienced in blending conceptual ideas into the realization of practical solutions.
  • Experience and understanding as a project leader and mentor. 
  • Competency in operational aspects of projects – billing, invoicing, scheduling and work planning.
  • Demonstrated experience with computer hardware and software programs, including Adobe Suite, REVIT, CAD, Microsoft Office, and Vision, Deltek and other applications as needed.
  • Ability to direct staff toward generating design solutions, as well as effectively deliver solutions to a broad audience – through a variety of communication skills, including presentation, visual communication and report writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and problem-solve for issues simultaneously.
