Description

Summary

Read and follow work order instructions, completing work based on assigned priorities. Operate production equipment following safe work procedures. Float between departments on the production floor, operating machines, moving inventory and materials as needed to keep operations efficient. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Operate machines in the inkjet department to include tabber, stamper, MCS, Kodak, Catalog machines and software.
  • Operate machines in the inserting department to include swing arm, FTS inserters, folders and DRS software.
  • Move completed work from the inserting, hand room and inkjet areas to the sorter for processing.
  • Match output to approved sample to ensure accuracy.
  • Read and understand daily production sheets, work orders, quality control documentations. 
  • Operate computers using Windows Based applications.
  • Insure left-over materials are disposed properly as per work order instructions.
  • Operate manual and powered pallet jacks.
  • Verify that components match work order jacket and verify materials when opening a new carton.
  • Monitors machines for quality issues such as doubles and miss-feeds, water, ink, and correct postage.
  • Monitor machine for maintenance requirements and needs. Report findings to Production Supervisor.
  • Maintain equipment and keep work area in an orderly fashion.
  • Complete and submit required daily paperwork.
  • Product verification according to job sample.
  • Notify supervisor when assigned tasks are completed.
  • Strap and palletize completed mailing trays.
  • Assist in other departments when necessary.
  • Avoid unnecessary down time.
  • Perform all assigned procedures in an efficient manner while observing all safety rules.
  • Work effectively with immediate Supervisor to minimize waste and increase profitability of company.
  • Report any potential safety issues to supervisor.
  • Report immediately any injury to immediate supervisor. 
  • Understand and complies with applicable company policies (i.e. attendance, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Associate Handbook etc.)
  • Follows all United States Postal regulations with regards to mail piece design and mail preparation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Work hours

  • This is a Full-time position. 
  • Typical workday: 7am-3:30pm
  • Noise: Moderate

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must report to work on time and work assigned work hours.
  • May be required to continue education and / or training.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to contact immediate supervisor in case of emergencies.
  • Must provide a method of contact for unscheduled days off.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, organizational skills, problem solving skills and effectively interact with several different personalities and levels of people.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, and percent


Physical Requirements of the position

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, frequently is required to stand and walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk or hear. 
  • The employee is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit. 
  • The employee must frequently lift and/ or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
