Job Purpose:

The Gymnastic Coach will plan, teach and instruct girls and boys preschool and recreational gymnastics classes in a safe manner with a recreational focus.

 Essential Functions:

  • Teaches recreational gymnastics classes to preschoolers aged 3 ½ to 5 and recreational students age 6 and up.
  • Evaluates participant skill progress
  • Maintains equipment and gymnastics facility
  • Prepares and delivers class lesson plans with gymnastics program standards
  • Spots participants on gymnastics equipment and tumbling skills
  • Provides class leadership

Additional Functions:

  • Performs office/clerical tasks as necessary
  • Prepares incident and accident reports
  • Prepares and coaches assistant instructors 
  • Teach parent and tot gymnastics classes for age 2-3 years
  • Teach  tumbling, trampoline, cheer and other gymnastics related programs upon request
  • Assists with the monitoring of first aid supplies and equipment for gymnastics center
  • Maintains knowledge of and follows all Federal, State, Local and Park District safety regulations
  • Maintains a complete understanding of Park District emergency action plan
  • Communicates any program deviations to immediate supervisor and customer service staff
  • Available nights and weekends as needed
  • Attends  staff meetings as needed or requested
  • Performs other projects as assigned


Requirements

   

Knowledge, Skill and Work Experience Required: 

  • 1+  years of gymnastics coaching experience and team experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Certification in advanced Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 3 months of employment
  • Ability to work with and instruct children

Salary Description
$18 -$30 per hour
