Description

The MRI Technician is responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients’ bodies for diagnostic purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, interviewing patients to explain MRI procedures and ensure their safety; positioning patient on exam table and set up the receivers; and entering data regarding patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture of MRI equipment. A key role of the MRI Tech is to alleviate patient concerns or fears by answering questions, offering preferred music, and providing support during test, if needed.

Requirements

We are searching for a candidate who:

  • possesses strong knowledge of safety and security procedures with the ability to identify and report potentially unsafe conditions, equipment and materials
  • has strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians and coworkers, in both positive and negative situations
  • can respond promptly to patient needs and requests for service and assistance
  • will provide excellent customer service while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology
  • Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration from ARRT.
