The Director of K-8 Programming will work closely & collaboratively with the Chief Program Officer to execute the mission and vision of its programs for youth development programming specific to elementary and middle school levels. The Director of K-8 will play a critical role in transforming the lives of youth, families, and the community by executing a vision to provide high-quality programs locally, eventually extending the use of its model regionally. This role will be responsible for a variety of significant activities including oversight of daily program operations, training, fidelity, and program evaluation services of OYC’s in-school, after school, summer camp, full day programming, and related components for students/families in elementary and middle school programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the implementation best practice models, programs and or curricula
- Provide emergency response 24 hours a day, seven days a week
- Provide oversight of all DCF regulations, training, reporting, quality improvement, and quality assurance process
- Effectively manage, provide guidance and train program staff for in-school, afterschool, and summer programming
- Effectively manage, provide guidance, and supervise academic support staff inclusive of certified and noncertified teachers providing homework assistance, differentiated learning instruction, and general academic support
- Serve as the first point of contact to program management for problem-solving and crisis intervention
- Serve as a point of contact for escalated student and parent issues
- Ensure the maximum number of participants enrolled in the OYC program and monitor regular attendance
- Monitor and audit all program sites periodically to ensure safety and fidelity of program design
- Develop regular and ongoing communication strategies with staff, partner schools, etc.
- Represent OYC well in meetings conferences and training sessions
- Conduct regular meeting and team building exercises to ensure team cohesion
- Oversee the audit process, quality control and quality improvement process of analyzing student progress - grades, test scores, conduct, and attendance on a quarterly basis
- Ensuring that during the student selection we are in 100% compliance with OYC Grant/program requirements.
- Supervise program managers/leads, review and evaluate staff based on work performance
Funding, Compliance and Fidelity
- Assist in the contract and grant renewal process for programs
- Assist in the development of program budget; regularly monitor annual program budgets to ensure program costs do not exceed budgetary constraints
- Audit program processes for effectiveness and to mitigate risks
- Pro-actively participate in the quality improvement process
- Assist in ensuring program policies and procedures are relevant, reviewed, and updated on an annual basis
- Regularly Assess Accountability and Fidelity of Program Model
- Assist in ensuring proper protocols for data collection, entry, outputs, and outcomes
- Data management and analysis
- Review, report, and audit data on a regular basis
- Responsible for data collection and data reports or summaries to respond to funders
- In School, After School, and Summer components for Elementary and Middle School programs

- Master’s degree in business, Social Work, or Human Services related field
