Manages the corporate CAD/CAM system and its database as an engineering tool for mechanical design, analysis and CNC programming of production tooling. Additionally, is responsible for tooling design and the execution of design from CNC programming through verification of all production tooling designs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist other users in file management, training, and maintaining up-to-date application and system software.
- Performs 3-D computer modeling and surface generation for CNC programming and machining of Production tooling.
- Works with Quality Assurance, SPC and Production in tooling trouble-shooting modification and the incorporation of feedback into the CAD/CAM database.
- Shares database information with other engineers in product and manufacturing engineering areas.
- Optimize processing and product quality through innovative design.
- Train other system users in CAD/CAM system operation and software features.
- Creation of all detail prints necessary to complete design fabrication and implementation.
- Responsible for the purchase of materials needed to complete assigned tasks as well as miscellaneous CAD/CAM softwares and materials.
- All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds or less.
Education/Experience
Associate Degree with Specialized Technologies in Mechanical Drafting and design with CADD plus 2-3 years’ experience in a design draftsman or mechanical designer position.
Position requires a high proficiency level using SolidWorks 3D modeling software
Knowledge in Autodesk Powermill CAM software.
Knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suite of tools is also highly desired.
