Job Summary:

Provide leadership and direction for all aspects of quality assurance to ensure that products meet regulatory and contract requirements and the organization maintains registration status for AS9100 Quality Management Systems, NADCAP Special Processes and other customer and regulatory requirements as needed.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of customer specifications, industry standards, and quality systems standards, including AS9100
  • Support the Quality Management System (QMS) to assure continued compliance to customer requirements and registration to AS9100 Aerospace Quality System standards
  • Manage compliance and registration status for NADCAP special processes
  • Support and lead both internal and external audits
  • Review and approve manufacturing planning and planning changes, especially for New Product Introductions (NPIs) on new parts to be produced by the Company
  • Take ownership of quality functions in the process design and prove out phase, and continue providing support for process changes during the process life-cycle
  • Lead and participate in all Quality activities, with a focus on quality objectives, product conformity, including FAIs & characteristic accountability
  • Use effective Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) strategies as they apply to CPARs, Escapes, MRB, etc.
  • Provide shop floor technical support and act as the technical resource for drawing interpretation questions to manufacturing
  • Achieve MRB disposition authority and disposition hardware as required
  • Provide and facilitate training on quality, including procedures, drawing interpretation, inspection, gages, etc
  • Develop Quality and Inspection Planning, including incoming material quality planning
  • Assist with all customer support activities, including: notification of quality escapes, investigation of customer returns, responding to customer CARs, and submitting NC/MRBs to the customer for approval
  • Work with the Materials team to establish quality requirements for suppliers, qualify new suppliers, ensure supplier performance and communicate with vendors to clarify and resolve issues
  • Assist with gage management and calibration, including selection of proper M&ME and performing Out of Tolerance (OOT) gage investigations as required


Work Environment:

  • Primarily Shared office environment.
  • May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels).

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering experience. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering strongly preferred. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)
  • Proficiency in MS Office including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
  • Experience with quality and/or auditing
  • Experience with machining, welding, brazing or similar manufacturing processes
  • US Person Status
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen

Salary Description
$65,000 -$90,000 per year DOE
