As a Host at The Bancroft, you will be responsible for providing a warm and welcoming greeting to guests, managing reservations, and helping to create a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for all guests. This role works closely with other members of the restaurant team to ensure that all guests are seated promptly and efficiently, and that they receive exceptional service throughout their meal.

Responsibilities:

• Extend a warm and friendly welcome to guests upon arrival, creating an inviting and positive first impression.
• Efficiently manage the reservation system, ensuring accurate recording of bookings and timely communication with guests.
• Guide guests to their designated tables, presenting menus and any relevant information to enhance their dining experience.
• Effectively manage guest flow to optimize seating arrangements and minimize wait times.
• Address guest inquiries, offering knowledgeable insights into menu items, dietary preferences, and restaurant offerings.
• Collaborate with the waitstaff and management to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for all guests.
• Handle guest feedback and concerns professionally, resolving issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant's waiting area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Previous restaurant/hospitality experience is a plus but not required; we're willing to train the right candidate.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Positive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for guest service.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage busy shifts effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
