Description

 The Primary Therapist provides and oversees individual treatment services as required by  the company for each client assigned to the therapist. The successful delivery of these  responsibilities is key to the success of the clients served and ultimately to the treatment  facility. Therapists need to have excellent communication and writing skills, be able to  work in a fast-paced environment, be able to manage their time effectively and be willing  to work with a diverse group of clients and staff members. As such, therapists need to be  attentive to differences of client backgrounds and demonstrate the ability to learn and  implement culturally appropriate interventions that are considered effective treatments in  the field of mental health. 

  • Provide direct clinical care for clients through individual and family sessions.
  • Provide regional medical necessity reviews and cross coverage
  • Lead regular therapy groups for clients, including skills-based groups, psychoeducation  groups, and process groups.  
  • Facilitate community outings and other exposure and experiential groups.  
  • Provide effective education to clients and families.  
  • Assist with Milieu Management  
  • Provide training and informal supervision for front line staff to ensure that clients are  provided with support and structure in the milieu, as well as being held accountable for  abiding by programming expectations, and working towards their treatment goals.  
  • Participate in treatment team planning, discharge planning, and liaison services with the  clinical department  
  • Communicate progress and activities related to treatment and continuing care plans on  an ongoing basis to the client, family, treatment team, referral source and other  individuals involved in the client’s care  
  • Meet with clients to develop treatment plan goals, including initial Biopsychosocial  assessment upon admission.  
  • Assess risk factors affecting client safety, collaboratively develop safety plans with  clients (and their family) and assist with transfer to higher levels of care when a client is  unable to contract for safety and is an immediate risk to the safety or themselves and/or  others. 
  • Documentation of group, family, and individual sessions in the electronic medical  records system. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements


  • LMFT, CPC, LCSW, PhD, and PsyD (LPC is not valid in NV) –  
  • 2-3 years mental health experience (not required)  
  • Experience working in a treatment environment preferred  
  • Experience working with adolescents required (Mood and Anxiety Division)  Familiarity with eating disorders required (Eating Disorder Division)  
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail  
  • Strong verbal and written communication ability and able to communicate effectively   with residents and their families, all levels of the organization and community members  Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations  
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations required in onboarding process  
  • Computer skills required: (Kipu; Human Resource Systems ADP, Workday, Lawson;  Microsoft Office Suite; Payroll Systems ADP, Kronos, etc;)  
  • Must be willing to be available 24 hours a day (on-call)  
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. Citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States
  • Must meet federal, state and local Criminal Clearance and Child Abuse Indexing  requirements.
